Scott Miller, UCLA’s senior flanker, missed the first three games of the season with a broken collarbone but was impressive in his season debut last Saturday night against Washington State. He returned a punt 47 yards and set up a touchdown the first time he touched the ball, had three punt returns for 62 yards and caught three passes for 67 yards, one of those good for 40 yards.
Arizona, UCLA’s opponent Saturday at the Rose Bowl, has scored in 207 consecutive games, the second-longest streak in NCAA history. UCLA is the record-holder, with a current scoring streak of 220 games.
Arizona State was the last team to shut out Arizona, 31-0, in the final game of the 1971 season. UCLA has not been shut out since losing to Michigan, 38-0, in the third game of 1971.
