Michael T. Miller has been named chairman and chief executive of Alpha Beta Co., a La Habra-based subsidiary of American Stores. Miller, 50, previously was senior vice president of government and public relations. Roger Wilhelm, 50, acting president of Alpha Beta since early 1988, has been made president and chief operating officer.
