NEW YORK — Outfielder Mark Carreon has been admitted to the Smithers Center for Alcohol and Drug Treatment, but the New York Mets refused to say today whether he was being treated for alcohol or drug abuse.
Carreon is the fourth Mets player to become a patient at the center. The other Mets who have undergone treatment there were pitcher Dwight Gooden, outfielder Darryl Strawberry and catcher Mackey Sasser.
