Two people were killed and a third seriously burned when their single-engine plane crashed on a landing approach to Redlands Airport, authorities said. Identities of the victims were not released. The burn victim was in serious condition at San Bernardino County General Hospital, sheriff’s deputies said. The plane’s pilot radioed the airport during its approach to report a fire in the cabin, deputies said. As it made its final approach, it crashed in a creek bed about a quarter of a mile short of the airport. The craft exploded on impact, setting off a small brush fire, which was quickly extinguished, deputies said.
