Big Spenders: Southwest Diversified Inc., an Irvine developer specializing in upscale homes and master-planned communities, says it has started work on a $25-million, 30-home project in Huntington Beach.
Prices will start in the low $700,000s, and many of the lots will be big enough for the owners to erect stables. the company says.
Southwest is doing this in the midst of a major housing slump in what many believe is a national recession.
But that’s Orange County--it may be hard to move those $300,000 tract homes--but there’s almost always a market for the big, expensive homes.
