Burroughs 27, San Gabriel 0--Sophomore Sean McDermott, in his varsity debut, rushed for a game-high 151 yards and one score in 22 carries as the host Indians won in a battle of previously winless teams.
Junior Ben Goldwasser gained 135 yards in 20 carries and scored three touchdowns in the first half as Burroughs (1-5, 1-0) took a 20-0 halftime lead. McDermott scored on an 11-yard run with 2:47 in the third quarter to cap Burroughs’ scoring.
Burroughs gained 436 yards in total offense while limiting San Gabriel to 87 yards.
