ROUNDUP : Wackerman Lifts CLU Past Claremont-Mudd

Rachel Wackerman scored two goals to lead Cal Lutheran past Claremont-Mudd, 3-1, in a women’s nonconference soccer match Wednesday at Cal Lutheran.
Wackerman’s second goal gave her 25 for the season and she added an assist as Cal Lutheran improved to 9-3. Vanessa Martin scored the Regals’ other goal, and Danielle Deyarmond and Lolita Marquez added assists.
Claremont-Mudd fell to 6-7-2.
COLLEGE WRESTLING
Moorpark 26, Bakersfield 17--Former Westlake High standout Neal Mason improved to 12-0 with an 8-7 decision over Scott Herndon in the 158-pound match for Moorpark, which stands 3-1 overall and 1-0 in Western State Conference competition.
BOYS’ WATER POLO
Notre Dame 13, Calabasas 8--Steve Barron had 11 goals to pace the Knights (5-4) in a nonleague match at Calabasas. Womeen Jun had nine assists and two goals for the Knights.
GIRLS’ VOLLEYBALL
Birmingham d. Monroe, 17-15, 15-6, 15-7--Tina Larson had 10 kills and Meredith Lewis added nine to lead host Birmingham (8-2, 5-1) in a Mid-Valley League match.
Sylmar d. Poly, 15-9, 15-8, 15-6--Griselda Vasquez had 21 kills to lead the Spartans (9-1, 5-1) in a Pac-8 Conference contest at Sylmar.
Van Nuys d. Canoga Park, 15-5, 13-15, 15-1, 15-2--April Todd and Tracy Fidell each had eight kills to lead the host Wolves (10-0, 7-0) in a Pac-8 Conference match.
Royal d. Camarillo, 15-6, 15-5, 15-3--Jennifer Hamilton had nine kills and four kill blocks, and teammate Chantel Loo had 17 service points with two aces for host Royal in the Marmonte League match.
Tracy Pahy added 11 service points and Stacey Kaufmann had 11 digs for Royal (10-1, 1-1).
Sherman Oaks CES d. Mid-City, 12-15, 15-6, 15-3--Sherman Oaks improved to 5-2 with the Magnet League win.
Kingdrew d. Valley Alternative, 1-15, 15-3, 15-10--Star Whitlow had five kills for visiting Valley Alternative (3-4) in a Magnet League match.
Glendale Adventist Academy d. Providence, 15-4, 15-8, 5-15, 8-15, 16-14--Glendale improved to 8-4 with the nonleague win.
