Turnovers Help Santa Margarita

SANTA MARIA — Josh Ireland scored two touchdowns and rushed for 89 yards to lead Santa Margarita High School to a 20-12 victory over Santa Maria in a nonleague game at Santa Maria Friday.
Turnovers led to two of Santa Margarita’s scores. Steve Feeney’s interception and eight-yard return put Santa Margarita at the Santa Maria 15, and Ireland scored five plays later from the two to give Santa Margarita (7-0) a 14-6 halftime lead.
