O.C., San Diego Judges Appointed

SACRAMENTO — Gov. George Deukmejian appointed new Municipal Court judges in Orange and San Diego counties on Tuesday.
The governor named Deputy Dist. Atty. William Lee Evans to succeed Judge Robert E. Thomas on the Orange County Municipal Court bench. Thomas was appointed earlier to the Superior Court.
Evans, 52, of Costa Mesa has been a deputy district attorney in Orange County since 1968.
Deukmejian also appointed Municipal Court Commissioner William J. McGrath Jr. to the San Diego County Municipal Court.
McGrath, 42, of El Cajon has been a court commissioner since 1989. He practiced law in El Cajon from 1973 to 1989.
Evans will serve in the Central Orange County Judicial District; McGrath in the El Cajon Judicial District.
