Deputies arrested a Moorpark man suspected of concealing a sawed-off, loaded shotgun inside his trench coat at Moorpark High School’s homecoming football game Friday night against Santa Clara High School, officials said.
Heriberto Hernandez, 19, is being held in Ventura County Jail on suspicion of possessing a dangerous weapon, carrying a concealed weapon, carrying a loaded firearm and possessing alcohol as a minor.
Bail has been set at $5,000, said Ventura County Sheriff’s Sgt. Ron Tusi.
About 8:30 p.m., deputies working security at the stadium noticed a man wearing a full-length coat, said Sgt. Gregg Whitesell.
A body check revealed the gun inside the coat, he said.
