Dead Newborn Found on Walnut Park Street

A dead newborn boy, its umbilical cord still attached, was found Sunday morning lying in debris on a Walnut Park street, Los Angeles County sheriff’s homicide detectives reported.
Witnesses said a Latino woman, about 26 to 28 years old, abandoned the baby, which weighed 8 pounds. The woman was described as approximately 5 feet tall, thin, with long black hair.
The baby was discovered in the 2100 block of 83rd Street in an unincorporated area near Huntington Park.
