Huntington Beach Man Wins Tennis Title

Mitch Bridge of Huntington Beach defeated Chris Numbers of San Diego to win the men’s open singles title in the Top Gun Tennis Tournament Sunday at the SeaCliff Tennis Club in Huntington Beach.
Bridge won the first set, 6-2, and led 4-1 in the second set when Numbers retired because of a leg injury. Vincent Mackey and Peter Smith of Cal State Long Beach won the men’s doubles title.
Monica Davis of Cal State Long Beach defeated Donna Ewing of Cal Poly Pomona, 6-2, 6-3, for the women’s singles title.
Ewing and Cindy Hurzeler won the women’s doubles title.
