‘Peter Pan’ Star Hospitalized: Actress Mary Martin, who starred in such musicals as “Peter Pan,” “The Sound of Music” and “South Pacific,” has been hospitalized for tests, a spokesman said Monday, but would not say where the actress was hospitalized nor the nature of the tests. Martin became a star of New York theater with her 1938 appearance in the musical “Leave It to Me.” She first played in “Peter Pan” in 1954. Martin was seriously injured in a 1982 taxi-van collision that killed her manager, Ben Washer. Actress Janet Gaynor and her husband, producer Paul Gardner, were severely injured in the crash.
