The Huntington Harbour Property Owners Assn. will host a forum tonight for candidates in the City Council, city attorney and Orange County 2nd Supervisorial District races to address issues facing the harbor area.
The event is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. at the Harbour View/Saybrook Club House at Heil Avenue and Saybrook Lane.
Event organizers said the forum will address such issues as the development and annexation of the Bolsa Chica area, building standards and traffic concerns in the harbor area and citywide, growth along Warner Avenue and two rival city ballot measures concerning the lease and sale of the city’s beach and parkland.
All residents are invited to attend and are encouraged to submit questions to the candidates, organizers said.
Councilwoman Grace Winchell and nine challengers are vying for four contested seats in the City Council race. City Atty. Gail C. Hutton is facing a challenge by Santa Ana attorney Paul Eugene Mann and Supervisor Harriett M. Wieder is defending her seat against Westminster Councilwoman Joy L. Neugebauer.
