Downey Senior Center, Projects Get $150,000

DOWNEY — The state has granted $150,000 to Downey for the Apollo Senior Center or special projects benefiting senior citizens in Downey.
A special committee of senior citizens has been selected by the Downey Committee on Aging to work with Councilwoman Barbara Hayden, Recreation and Community Services Commissioner Johnette Stickel and the community services staff to consider possible projects to be funded by the grant.
