French Official Defuses Morocco Spat Over Book

RABAT, Morocco — French Foreign Minister Roland Dumas said Friday he has managed to defuse Moroccan anger over a book published in France that sharply criticizes Morocco’s King Hassan II.
Dumas said he talked for 90 minutes with King Hassan about the dispute, and said he believes Hassan was satisfied with his explanations.
