Woo Is No Longer ‘Breath of Fresh Air’
I have worked in Hollywood for the past 13 years and have been following with interest the news of my adopted community and the career of Councilman (Michael) Woo. I contributed some in-kind services to his first (unsuccessful) campaign, and originally found him be a breath of fresh air. But that air has become stale.
I just don’t know what to think of a politician who calls the elected Hollywood Project Area Committee a “forum for wacky behavior” and then supports a hillside developer who calls the hillside residents “mad dogs” (Westside, Oct. 11). Is name-calling of his opponents what makes him a “media-conscious politician”? While Hollywood is famous for its colorful and outlandish behavior, are we supposed to believe that anyone who has an opinion that differs from Woo’s is a nut case, mad dog or wacky? And this man wants to be elected mayor?
