U.S. Said to Ready Hospitals in Europe

DARMSTADT, Germany — The Air Force is setting up four contingency hospitals in Europe in preparation for a possible influx of casualties from the Persian Gulf, the newspaper Stars and Stripes reported Monday.
The unofficial U.S. military publication said that “teams from Air Force bases in Europe began getting the so-called turnkey hospitals ready late last month.”
The newspaper said the contingency hospitals include a renovated aircraft hangar and a former German hospital.
