IN BRIEF : Group to Name Its Journalists of the Year

Charles Sergis of KFWB-Radio and Rick Orlov of the Daily News will be named Journalists of the Year by the Society of Professional Journalists, Los Angeles chapter, at an awards dinner Monday at the Sheraton Grande.
The Freedom of Information Award will go to Sonoma State University professor Carl Jensen for his “Project Censored,” an annual compilation of the Top 10 “under-reported news stories of the year.” Sergis and Orlov will be honored for coverage of government and politics.
Shelby Coffey III, editor and executive vice president of the Los Angeles Times, will be keynote speaker. KNBC-TV’s Jess Marlowe will be master of ceremonies.
