Tune’s Tall Tales: Dancer-director Tommy Tune was auditioning dozens of women Wednesday for a revival of “Ziegfeld Presents the Will Rogers Follies” after the call went out for “beautiful, blooming, dazzling, cherry-cheeked, magnificent, elegant, tall women.” The judging was done on a height scale that required women between 5-foot-5 and 5-foot-10 to be able to sing and tap-dance. Women who stand between 5-foot-11 and 6-foot-1 need only be able “to walk like a Ziegfeld Girl” and speak English, according to the casting call, and beautiful women over 6-foot-3 don’t have to speak at all.
