Letters With Racial Slurs Sent to 2 School Officials

The principal and vice principal of Grant High School in Van Nuys received letters this week containing racial slurs directed at them and their families, Los Angeles police said Wednesday.
Racially derogatory graffiti were also found spray-painted on the school’s walls Tuesday night, a detective said.
The letters--partly typed and partly handwritten--were received Tuesday in the mail at the school by Principal Bob Collins, who is white and has a black wife, and by Vice Principal Joseph Walker, who is black, police said.
It was not known if the two letters were written by the same person or if they were connected with the graffiti, police said.
