Moorpark College won the South-Central regional at Bakersfield College with 83 points to claim its second consecutive regional championship. Nine Raider wrestlers qualified for the state meet next weekend at Cypress College.

Delfino Ochoa (126 pounds), Bobby Cook (142), Neal Mason (158) and Phil Guerrero (177) won regional titles for Moorpark.

Billy Scannel (118) and Tony Flores (190) placed second in their divisions. Pete Lutz (167) and Tommy Flores (heavyweight) finished third and Wade Caddin (150) placed fourth to qualify.

MEN’S BASKETBALL

UC San Diego 79, Masters College 72--Jeff Newton, Tom Bruner and Stu Epperson helped lead the Mustangs back from a 14-point deficit at halftime to tie the score, 77-77. But the Tritons scored five consecutive points then went on to win the University of Redlands tournament.
