A Guide to the Best of Southern California : SHOPTALK : The Five-Cent Box
- Share via
YEARS AGO, an aspiring philatelist could go to the local five-and-dime and buy a small, drawstringed cloth bag full of postage stamps from all over the world. Finding collectible stamps today is no longer that simple. Fortunately, the Larchmont Stamp Shop, hardly bigger than a stamp itself, still caters to those fascinated with the beauty and art of the postage stamp. You can sift through the five-cent box and its thousands of colorful stamps--people and places, flora and fauna. Ken Overaker can order all the accouterments you’ll need--from tongs to albums.
Larchmont Stamp Shop, 500 N. Larchmont Blvd., Los Angeles; (213) 463-0664.
