The Sidelines : Vikings’ Studwell to Retire

MINNEAPOLIS — Scott Studwell, a linebacker for the Minnesota Vikings since he joined the NFL in 1977, said he will retire at the end of the season.

“It’s time for me to retire and step aside,” the 36-year-old Studwell said Sunday. “My heart tells me to keep playing, but my head tells me it’s time to quit.”
