Silent Night: “Carols by Candlelight,” a musical fund-raiser for Christmas charities scheduled at the L.A. Sports Arena on Sunday, has been canceled. The show was axed because of inadequate ticket sales and a late start in promotion, a spokesman said. But the show’s promoters, the Pritchard Group, say they have plans to resurrect the extravaganza in 1991. The production was to include a 2,000-voice community choir, an orchestra and a cast of celebrities.
