HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL : Torrey Pines Rolls Past Australian Team

SAN DIEGO — Torrey Pines remained undefeated with a 94-46 victory over Ipswich (Australia) in the James Waldal Tip-Off Tournament at Torrey Pines Tuesday. Torrey Pines (5-0) jumped to a 48-24 halftime lead. Dan Reynaga scored 15 points and Chad Davis added 13 for the Falcons. Sophomores Scott Pollard and John Martin each scored 12 points for Torrey Pines. Ipswich (9-4) was led by David Herjeck, who scored 14 points. Nonleague
Mira Mesa 70, Granite Hills 53--Quantell Donigan scored 18 of his game-high 28 points on three-point shots, and Mike Phillips added eight points and a game-high 12 rebounds for Mira Mesa (4-2), which won its fourth in a row. Granite Hills fell to 1-7.
San Diego 86, Point Loma 44--Mike Watson scored 13 points and had six rebounds for San Diego (3-0). Teammate Marlon Wells added 11 points. Point Loma (1-6) was led by Justin Miller with 12 points.
Crawford 64, Mission Bay 61--Crawford trailed by eight going at the end of the third quarter but outscored Mission Bay 22-11 in the fourth quarter. John Price scored 24 points had 18 points and Rick Moe scored 17 for Mission Bay (1-3).
Serra 61, El Capitan 52--Derrick Thorne scored 13 points, Tony Ethridge scored 12 and Bryant Tucker had 11 for Serra (2-3).
Army-Navy 74, Calvin Christian 42--Phil Parks scored 17 points and Jim Choi scored 15 for Army-Navy (5-2).
Tri-City Christian 78, Parker 64--Tri-City’s Nathan Durrance led all scorers with 36 points. Jeff Lemke scored 13 and John Afshari added 12 for Tri-City (4-4).

Savanna Running Rebel Tournament
Torrey Pines 64, Edison 57--Daphne Brownson scored 25 points and had 10 rebounds to lead No. 9 Torrey Pines (6-0) to a quarterfinal victory. Teammate Allyson Mizoguchi added 10 points and had nine rebounds. Edison (6-1) led 29-26 at halftime.
Nonleague
El Cajon Valley 61, San Marcos 34--Heidi Holm scored 21 points and her sister Heather scored 20 to lead No. 2 El Cajon Valley. Tammy Hinrichs led San Marcos with nine points.
Fallbrook 46, Madison 28--No. 6 Fallbrook (5-1), led by Michelle Henricks with 11 points, took a 22-13 halftime lead. Seeta Brown led Madison with eight points.
