COLLEGE ROUNDUP : McShan Scores 19 to Power CCI Past Mt. Mercy

Jamie McShan scored 19 points to lead Christ College Irvine to a 79-70 victory over Mt. Mercy in a nonconference men’s basketball game Thursday at Christ College Irvine.
Aaron Clasen scored 17, Ian Donnelly added 13 and Mike Oden nine for CCI (5-8), which led at the half, 46-33.
In a nonconference women’s basketball game:
Pepperdine 72, UC Irvine 60--Aimee McDaniel, a freshman from Brea-Olinda High School, scored 16 points for Pepperdine (4-5) at Irvine. McDaniel was five of eight from the floor, including a three-pointer. Shannon Frowiss added 18 points for Pepperdine.
Yvonne Catala scored 16 points, Kathy Lizarraga had 12, and Jenny Lee and Denise Gandara 10 each for Irvine (2-6).
