WOMEN’S BASKETBALL POLL : La. Tech Ends 12-Year Top 10 Streak

Cal State Long Beach was ranked 15th in this week’s Associated Press women’s college basketball poll, and Louisiana Tech ended its 12-year run in the Top 10.
At the top of the poll, Virginia (8-0) and North Carolina State (7-0) maintained their 1-2 positions.
Long Beach (5-2) maintained its position from the previous week’s rankings.
Louisiana Tech (3-2) fell from seventh to 11th today after losing to UNLV a week ago, 84-77. UNLV (7-0) moved from 14th to edge the Techsters for the 10th spot with 791 points to 776 points. Tech was also hurt by defending NCAA-champion Stanford’s upset of then-No. 3 Georgia, 82-79, in The Cardinal’s tournament.
