THOUSAND OAKS : Library Volunteers to Deliver Materials
- Share via
The Thousand Oaks Library will use a $26,500 grant from the California State Library to deliver books to senior citizens and disabled people who cannot visit the library.
Volunteers will start the service in late January, said Norma Callero, grants and volunteer coordinator. During the first stages of the program, about 20 volunteers will be needed to help 30 to 40 patrons, Callero said.
The grant money will also be used to buy large-print materials, books on tapes, and magnifying equipment and videotapes. The library will present a series of programs targeting the concerns of older adults, such as retirement, health and financial management.
