WASHINGTON — American Red Cross President Elizabeth Hanford Dole has made several management changes within the organization aimed at improving its operations and financial reporting, a spokesman announced Friday.
Dole has appointed four senior vice presidents to serve on her executive team, said spokesman Brian Ruberry. Dole resigned as labor secretary last year.
Senior Vice President and Comptroller Stephen Richards will oversee the financial accountability of the Red Cross, which includes the design and implementation of Red Cross computer and telecommunication systems, Ruberry said.
Richards’ new office will expand the capability of the Red Cross to conduct more thorough reviews of its finances.
Dr. Jeffrey McCullough will serve as senior vice president of blood services, and Jennifer Dorn, who was an assistant secretary under Dole at the Labor Department, has been appointed senior vice president of policy and planning.
Jim Hladecek will be acting vice president of operations while the Red Cross Board of Governors searches for a current chapter manager to fill the position on a permanent basis. Gwen Jackson, of Milwaukee, Wis., currently is national chairwoman of Red Cross volunteers.
