HUNTINGTON BEACH : Owners to Remove Airport Buildings
- Share via
The family that owns the old Meadowlark Airport property has agreed to begin removing the remaining buildings from the 65-acre site, a city official said last week.
The Nerio family will outline its timetable for demolishing or moving 15 structures from the property at today’s City Council meeting, said Hal Simmons, a city senior planner.
Under a development agreement reached in July, 1989, the Nerios were to remove the runway and all of the buildings from the site by May 31, 1990. The runway and most of the structures were cleared by that date, but an assortment of Quonset huts, mobile homes, boats and other properties remain.
The family maintained that the city had not clarified which buildings had to be removed.
