CALIFORNIA IN BRIEF : SAN DIEGO : 7th Condor Egg Laid in Animal Park

Another California condor laid an egg in the San Diego Zoo Wild Animal Park, the seventh egg produced by captive condors this year, officials said. A female identified as “UN1” produced an egg with its mating partner, known as “AC4,” said Tom Hanscom, a zoo official. Only 40 of the condors are known to exist, all in zoos.
