Hed That Doesn’t Quite Fill Line: G&G; Diagnostics L.P., a Newton, Mass., investment partnership led by Irwin Gruverman, has boosted its stake in Disease Detection International Inc. in Irvine from 2.88% to 6.53%. According to a Securities and Exchange Commission filing, G&G; bought 211,767 common shares of the Irvine company Feb. 1 for 22 cents each, or $46,588. G&G; now owns a total of 378,517 shares in the firm. Thad Morris, president of Disease Detection, which makes diagnostic-test kits for infectious diseases, said Monday that G&G; bought the additional shares from Environmental Diagnostics Inc. of Burlington, N.C.
