Group Won’t Stop Supporting Police

Although no one can condone the deplorable breakdown in discipline evidenced by the recent Rodney King beating in Lake View Terrace, the directors and members of the Foothill Alliance of Informed Residents (FAIR), would like to express our unwavering support for the fine officers of the Los Angeles Police Department.
As local citizens concerned about the neighborhoods we live in, we have all witnessed the difficult conditions in which the Los Angeles Police Department has to work. Regrettably, aberrations such as this inevitably occur, even in the finest organization.
We are certain that Chief Gates can and will take the necessary actions to make the department a better and stronger force in the wake of this tragic incident.
FAIR believes that this is not the time for seeking scapegoats; we have the utmost faith in Chief Darryl Gates, Capt. Tim McBride and the fine officers who “protect and serve” our community 24 hours a day, through good times and bad.
