Countywide : Local Leaders Join in Read Aloud Day

Ventura County educators and politicians will lend their voices to fictional works Wednesday at county library branches in celebration of the Great American Read Aloud Day.
The free programs in recognition of National Library Week will feature readings of children stories at nine of 17 branches of the county library system. Local leaders participating in the events include the mayors and council members from several cities and school administrators.
Public readings will be held at 1:15 p.m. at El Rio Library; 3:30 p.m. at the Avenue, Foster and Wright libraries in Ventura, the Oak Park Library in Agoura, the Ray D. Preuter Library in Port Hueneme, and the Camarillo and Simi Valley libraries, and 7 p.m. at the Foster, Fillmore and Camarillo libraries.
