Day correctly points out that AIDS is mostly a self-inflicted disease, often willfully transmitted and knowingly acquired. Psychological impairment from brain infection by the AIDS virus affects at least half of those who test positive, and may lead to this devastating behavior.
The time to stop the socially destructive protection of AIDS patients and to institute universal testing and protective isolation of willful propagators is now. AIDS victims require treatment, but the public and medical staff deserve equal protection.
