Altadena : New Irrigation at Links
The Altadena Golf Course will hold an open house and demonstrate a new irrigation system from 5 to 7 p.m. June 12, at the nine-hole course at 1450 E. Mendocino St.
Work on the $340,000 system was begun three months ago by Key Turf of San Diego. The course was kept open while new pipes, 750 sprinkler heads and controls were installed.
The Los Angeles County Parks and Recreation Department, which owns the course, contributed $100,000 toward the new system. DC Golf, the course operator, paid the rest.
The Altadena-based company also operates the county-owned nine-hole Eaton Canyon golf course in Pasadena.
