COSTA MESA : Kaiser Primary School to Expand
- Share via
Kaiser Primary Elementary School, which now provides kindergarten and first-grade classes, will expand to include second-graders next year under a plan to ease overcrowding at an upper elementary school.
The expansion would displace the Westcliff Early Childhood Center, a preschool that now operates at Kaiser Primary. But Newport-Mesa Unified School District trustees have agreed to negotiate an agreement with Westcliff to operate at a different site when the center’s lease expires next year.
The expansion of Kaiser Primary would begin with the 1992-93 school year. The proposal calls for second-grade students at Kaiser Upper Elementary to move to Kaiser Primary, which also would have four mobile classrooms added to its site.
Kaiser Upper Elementary will house students in third through sixth grade and Kaiser Primary will house kindergarten, first and second grades. No enrollment changes are planned until the 1992-93 school year and no boundaries are expected to be redrawn.
