Growth in Oceanside

Referring to your article (“Oceanside Envisions Wave of Beach Development” June 20), I suggest that there are two prerequisites for guaranteeing the success of this venture:
1. A guarantee from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers that the Oceanside Harbor bypass system, which is now the source of sand for South Strand, will provide the required amount of sand on a continuing basis; and
2. A guarantee from Mother Nature that the cluster storms of the winter of 1982-83 that caused the worst oceanfront damage in Oceanside history will not occur again.
