To reach the French Government Tourist Office and Air France, it is not necessary to call 900 numbers and pay 50 cents per minute. Both are listed in the Los Angeles telephone book and require only the usual charge.

Editor’s note: On Jan. 1, the French Government Tourist Office in Los Angeles stopped answering telephone queries except at (900) 990-0040 (50 cents per minute). Questions are also answered by mail or in person (9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday) at: 9454 Wilshire Blvd., Suite 303, Beverly Hills 90212.
