Starting fresh: While most of those in the figure skating competition at the Forum are treating the Festival as the final weekend of a long season, Nicole Bobek is treating it as the start of a new one. She has adopted a new program for today’s free skate.
“I thought my program last year was great--I loved it--but this is senior ladies, and some judges said it was too babyish,” said Bobek, who emerged as the leader after Saturday’s original program.
An eighth-grader at Cheyenne Mountain Junior High in Colorado Springs, Bobek will be 14 next month.
