NBC BASEBALL : Astros Sweep Brea; Rangers Lose Twice

Jeff Bodeau and Bobby Kazmirski gave strong relief performances Saturday to help the Woodland Hills Astros to a National Baseball Congress Collegiate League doubleheader sweep over the Brea Brewers at Pierce College.
Bodeau improved to 7-0 with 3 2/3 innings of two-hit shutout relief as the Astros rallied with three ninth-inning runs for a 5-4 victory in the first game. Kazmirski (4-0) struck out six in a seven-inning stint in a 4-2 second-game win as the Astros improved to 19-8-1.
In other Collegiate League play, the Valley Rangers dropped a pair of one-run games at Santa Barbara High. The Rangers, 9-14 with seven one-run losses, allowed five unearned runs in a 9-8 loss to the Oakland Oaks, then fell to the Santa Barbara Foresters, 5-4.
J.P. Des Enfants had two doubles and a solo homer in the first game and was two for four in the second game for the Rangers.
