Three Nadadores’ Divers Win at Zone D Championships

Three Mission Viejo Nadadores’ divers won events at the Junior Olympic Zone D championships Saturday at the Rose Bowl Aquatic Center in Pasadena.
Tyce Routson, who Friday won the boys’ 14-15 platform event, won the three-meter title with 425.50 points. Summer Brown won the girls’ 14-15 one-meter (353.15) and Nate Smith, who won the boys’ 16-18 three-meter Friday, won the one-meter competition (454.45).
The top seven finishers in each event advance to the national championships July 25-28 in Clayton, Mo.
Other Nadadores qualifiers were Kenesha Jespersen, who finished second in the girls’ 13-and-under platform (241.35); Kristen Marquis, who finished fourth in the girls’ 13-and-under platform (221.00); Jeff Nichols, who finished third in the boys’ 14-15 platform (350.10); Amy Sloan, who finished second in the girls’ 14-15 one-meter (348.20); Sandy Zubrin, who finished third in the girls’ 14-15 one-meter (341.40); Jason Hubbart, who finished sixth in the boys’ 16-18 one-meter (384.70), and Joy Burkholder, who finished second in the girls’ 16-18 one-meter (384.50).
