Slams Are Grand, Four in a Night
A record-tying four grand slams were hit Tuesday night in the major leagues, three of them in the American League.
Randy Milligan of Baltimore hit one against the Angels that left his team a run short; Todd Benzinger helped his new club, Kansas City, win and Ken Griffey Jr. helped Seattle beat New York. In the National League, Gary Redus of Pittsburgh hit a grand slam in a rout of Atlanta.
There have been four grand slams several times in one night, but never five.
