Irvine’s Atlas Energy Bought: Atlas Energy Systems, a maker of power supplies for computers, has been acquired by International Computer Power of South El Monte for an undisclosed sum. The deal will result in several layoffs among Atlas’ 22 employees. In addition, Atlas’ operations will be moved from Irvine to International Computer’s headquarters in South El Monte, said Richard N. Bowyer Jr., vice president of International Computer. Both companies make power systems, such as power supplies that allow a computer to automatically switch from one power source to another in case of a power failure. The combined company will have sales of about $10 million in 1991 and about 35 employees, officials said.
