Son Two Shots Off Lead in Texas

Richard Son of Fullerton shot par 70 in the first round of the 15-18 division in the Ben Hogan Boys’ Junior Championship at Four Seasons Resort in Irving, Tex.
Hank Kuehne of Dallas and Patrick Vadden of Louisville were tied for the lead at 68. Dan Dalton of Huntington Beach shot 75, Scott Richardson of Laguna Niguel had 76 and Paul Hinkle of Costa Mesa had 79.
In the 13-14 division, Robert Son of Fullerton shot 71 and is three strokes behind leader Jeff Fahrenbruch of Plano, Tex. Ben Garner of El Toro shot 72.
