The financially troubled America’s Cup Organizing Committee will ignore an offer of $2 million from the Independence Group, a Greenwich (Conn.) group whose bid to defend the Cup was rebuffed in June. ACOC spokeswoman Jane Eagleson said: “It’s a hollow offer, along the lines of his defense plan submitted earlier, which had no substance.”
