WARSAW : On the Papal Trail

Pope John Paul II returns once more to Poland today at the beginning of a two-country East European tour that will also mark his first visit to neighboring Hungary.
The visit to Poland--his fifth as pontiff--is mostly for nostalgia, with a planned visit to his parents’ graves in Krakow, a lunch with fellow priests from his graduating class at a seminary in Wadowice and finally an appearance at an international youth festival in Czestochowa, site of his favorite shrine.
The Pope will spend most of this trip in a sweeping pastoral visit to Hungary--the kind of tour he hopes to soon schedule in the Soviet Union. Latest guess on timing of a Soviet visit: Spring or fall, 1992. He has been to Czechoslovakia and would like to call on Catholics in other East European nations.
