No ‘Whore’ in Ireland: Director Ken Russell’s new movie, “Whore,” billed as “a realistic and shocking portrayal of the dark side of prostitution,” has been banned in Ireland. The Trimark Pictures film “was obviously misunderstood,” says Trimark chairman Mark Amin. Russell says “ ‘Whore’ neither glorifies nor sanctions prostitution. It illustrates reality.” “Whore” is scheduled to open in Los Angeles and New York on Oct. 4 and nationwide in November. Trimark is currently appealing its NC-17 rating.
