A teen-age boy was shot to death Thursday afternoon while standing with a group of boys in a driveway several blocks from Paramount High School, authorities said.
The victim, whose name was not released, was shot in the 13900 block of Downey Avenue about 12:50 p.m., Sheriff’s Deputy Hal Grant said. The teen-ager was “standing with a group of males when he was shot once in the upper torso” he said. Members of the group took off running and a car was seen speeding away, Grant said.
The 17-year-old died at Downey Community Hospital. Grant said the shooting was gang-related. There were no arrests.
